About Us

Stonehurst has been a privately owned Christchurch accommodation, operated by New Zealanders for almost 100 years. We are definitely not a concrete jungle but rather an eclectic group of buildings reflecting New Zealand architecture from the 1930's through to today. Set in over 10,000 square metres we have maintained many outdoor areas as lawns and gardens for the exclusive use of our guests.

Community Contribution

Stonehurst is active in promoting Christchurch and Canterbury and displays high regard for the impact a commercial accommodation operation can have on a residential area. Our policy is to contract, hire and buy locally.

Environmental Commitment

Stonehurst depends on a high quality natural environment for the success of our operation. Our undertaking is to maintain our environmental integrity and to continually enhance our surroundings. We have had a working Environmental Plan in place since 2001. Stonehurst also places high importance on the beautification of our grounds and acknowledges the responsibility of Christchurch's Garden City reputation. This has been recognised by Stonehurst continually being chosen as one of the winners in Christchurch 's Community Pride Garden Awards.
