Stonehurst Starter and Stopover Packs have been designed to provide you with a Backpackers Package that ensures a smooth arrival, orientation and first night's accommodation when you arrive here in Christchurch, New Zealand. Our Queenstown Coach Pack gives you the added bonus of a hassle-free beginning to your trip in New Zealand and our Car Packages allow you the freedom of doing what you want to do when and where you want to do it. Whichever you choose, our Starter and Stopover Packs allows you to store excess belongings, keep in touch with family and friends and start your holiday with no worries!

Accommodation Options

Backpacker Bunk Beds
All bunks are fully made. Rooms have refrigerator and personally controlled heating. Shared bathroom facilities. Sleep from four to 10.

Non-Facility Double/Twin Rooms
Rooms have fully made beds, refrigerator, TV, telephone, personally controlled heating, towels and soap. Shared bathroom facilities.

Ensuite Double/Twin Rooms
Fully made beds, TV, telephone, tea and coffee making facilities, complimentary tea and coffee on arrival, electric blankets, clock radio, refrigerator, private bathroom, hair dryer, towels and soap, full-length mirror, personally controlled heating.

Motel Triple
All units have a king size bed plus one single (or can be three singles), clock radio, writing desk, TV, DVD player, telephone, dining area, iron and ironing board, electric blankets, clock radio, hairdryer, fully equipped kitchenette with gas hobs, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, kettle etc. Sleeps from one to three.

STARTER PACK DAY TRIP OPTIONS

HANMER SPRINGS (Population 750) Depart Time approximately 9.00 am
About 1¹/₂ hours drive from Christchurch nestles the inland Alpine village of Hanmer Springs - the main Thermal Resort in the South Island and Canterbury's adventure playground. The 'Waitipu' (Sacred Waters) hot springs have attracted visitors for almost 150 years. Hanmer also offers many stunning walks and awesome adventure activities.

KAIKOURA (Population 3,850) Depart Time approximately 7.10 am

About a three hour drive up the rugged East Coast is the gateway to the Southern Ocean Marine Mammal Sanctuary. Here you can see albatross, gannets, penguins, petrels and seals. Kaikoura is a must for seafood fans with its crayfish dishes being 'world famous in New Zealand'. You can also enjoy a wide variety of land bound activities.

AKAROA (Population 650) Depart Time approximately 8.15 am

Akaroa ('Long Harbour' in Maori) is the earliest French settlement in New Zealand as evidenced by the French named streets. 1¹/₂ hours drive from Christchurch, Akaroa is home to Hector Dolphins - the smallest in the world. You can go swimming with them or take a wildlife cruise to watch the dolphins and meet the tiny Blue Penguins.

By booking a Stonehurst Accommodation Starter Pack, Queenstown Coach Pack or Seven Day Self Drive Pack online with Stonehurst Accommodation you agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Cancellation and refund policies as laid out below.
2. You will be required to provide a valid credit card at check-in to cover any incidental charges.
3. Stonehurst does not accept liability for any errors or omissions and reserves the right to change details from that in published information at any time.
4. All prices are subject to change.
5. Stonehurst reserves the right to decline your reservation and all bookings are subject to availability.
6. Day trips are subject to availability.
7. Should you for any reason not undertake or use any part of your package no refund will be given.
8. You must be at least 18 years of age to book a Starter Package with Stonehurst Accommodation.
9. In order to use the multi-share accommodation option all guests must be over the age of 18 years.
10. All packages must be paid in full, on reservation.
11. Where we will try to oblige with any changes to your schedule and amend reservations if possible, we cannot guarantee availability of any changes once a package is confirmed.
12. Payment will be taken from your credit card on reservation. Confirmation will be sent to you on the email address given by you.
13. Where car package option is taken all drivers must be 21 or over. Insurance excess applies.
14. Normal terms and conditions of stay apply.
